Warts on the feet, also known as plantar warts, are a common and often stubborn skin condition caused by the HPV virus. They can feel like a small rock under your skin and may become painful when walking or standing.

While some warts go away on their own, many need treatment to prevent them from spreading or becoming more uncomfortable. Over-the-counter treatments, such as salicylic acid or wart-off, can help gradually break down the wart, but they often take several months and may not be effective for deeper or long-standing warts.

At W podiatry clinic, we offer more targeted treatments. These may include safe debridement (removal of thickened skin), stronger topical treatments, or other clinical therapies designed to clear the wart more efficiently. We also provide advice on preventing recurrence and stopping the virus from spreading to other areas or people.

If you have a wart that is painful, persistent, or not responding to home treatment, it is best to have it assessed professionally. Early treatment can save you time and discomfort.
